Zagat Buzz: Who Wants Scrapple?! Hit the Stag’s Head, 1.11.11

This Wednesday, Midtown East beer temple The Stag’s Head will turn over the taps to Troeg’s Craft Brewery of Harrisburg, PA. The chef at Stag’s is actually from the same area as the brewery, so he thought it would be fitting to serve a local delicacy with the brew: scrapple. In case you’re not familiar with this yummy treat, it’s essentially pork scraps and trimmings mushed into a semi-solid loaf with cornmeal and flour yum! The dish is common in Pennsylvania Dutch country where it is known as “pon haus.”
