Local BigWig Insiders’ Guide: Dinner with Zed at the Stag’s Head, 10.23.10

The Stag’s Head is located near 51st and 2nd Avenue, nestled between brownstones and little shops. Of course, it was already crowded on a Thursday evening at 7, therefore the first floor was out of the picture. But the air was cool and comfortable, so we opted for the second floor outdoor seating instead. I recommend Stag’s Head to anyone in favor of great food and great service, which I believe is just about everyone out there.

Beer served in a can is no longer just for frat houses and barbecues. Read the full feature

Drink up, because $2 from each beer sold will go to Louisiana Wildlife Federation’s long-term efforts in the Gulf region. For grub, expect gratis jambalaya from 6 to 8pm. Stag’s Head. 6pm–4am. Paste Magazine: 30 Best Beer Bars in America

I wasn’t aware of The Stag’s Head—or, frankly, the far east side of Midtown—until the pub contacted us about a party celebrating Paste’s 25 Best American Breweries. Impressively they had the vast majority on tap for the celebration, which was only mildly dampened by the blizzard that hit New York. The lodge-style bar has gotten much more adventurous in the past year, adding to the already amazing New York beer landscape. Read the full review.
